Computer Requirements
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that they have reliable and consistent access to a computer that meets the minimum hardware and software requirements to participate in an online course. Keep in mind that the minimum system may be slow and cause some frustration.
Note: Some courses may have additional hardware/software requirements. Please contact the course instructor for special requirements. In addition, difficulties experienced by a Virtual College of Texas (VCT) student should be reported immediately to the student’s Local College Coordinator, or their college’s technical support personnel.

Plug-ins and Helper Applications
A plug-in is a third-party software product that is integrated int a Web browser to extend its capabilities. A helper application provides similar capabilities to a browser plug-in, but runs as an external application and typically launches another window for viewing.
